I've got a job at Target. Hooray? Still looking for better places, but at least this is money and less of a gap in employment. Also, Saturday is the air show at Randolph! If anyone wants to come with me, let me know. | | Friday, October 23rd, 2009 | | 2:51 pm |
oh god bawwing my eyes out at kingdom hearts. why do you do this to me, Squeenix? Why do I keep paying you to do this to me? | | Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 | | 7:57 pm |
Obama healthcare speech drinking game! Drink every time he gets a standing ovation. They're like jack-in-the-boxes, he says a few lines and they all pop to their feet. Seriously, though, I think this is a good speech. He's adressing a lot of major concerns, like the rumor that it would pay for illegal aliens, and the like. I don't know if his proposal is the best, or if it could be improved, but we really do need a new system. What baffles me is the people who say that this plan is bad because it would make them pay for other people's coverage. WTF do you think your insurance premiums are doing now, sitting in a little jar just for your use? | | Friday, August 14th, 2009 | | 3:18 am |

I realize this is entirely inane and none of you care, but sometimes it amazes me just how many times per day I seem to utter the words "Where the hell did I put my socks?" | | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009 | | 5:34 pm |
REVELATION AT STUPID O'CLOCK: Vulcans are like koalas! Logic is their eucalyptus. Also Botcon was awesome. I hugged Peter Cullen. | | Monday, May 11th, 2009 | | 2:33 pm |
WTF inducing moment of the day: Me, to friend: I'm glad I'm going home soon. I'll miss everyone here, but I miss my friends at home too. Random passerby: You know who misses you? Jesus. You should pray to him right now. Me:... Sweet zombie Jesus, Baylor. Tone it down. | | Thursday, May 7th, 2009 | | 1:00 pm |
Friends discuss grammar. Real friends get into half-hour shouting matches complete with threats of violence and calling of parents to consult over whether the phrase "my mind goes weird places" is acceptable without a 'to'. | | Friday, March 27th, 2009 | | 8:13 pm |
GUYS GUYS CANCEL WHAT I SAID IN THE LAST ENTRY! It'll have to be at mom's at 7, because Ginger doesn't want it at dad's and mom thinks 6 is too early! Sarah, Jim can totally come. | | Saturday, March 21st, 2009 | | 12:37 am |
DEAR GENERAL PEOPLE OF BAYLOR: Just because my friend just got a fiancee doesn't mean I'm next in line. The next person to ask when I plan to marry/if I have a boyfriend/when hypothetical boyfriend plans to propose, then act affronted when I tell them I don't have plans/am not currently looking/don't have a boyfriend, will get whacked over the head with a very heavy philosophy book. If I say I'm not looking for a boyfriend, THAT IS THE END OF IT. I do not need to meet anyone's 'really sweet classmate'. I don't want to 'get a man of my own'. Am I somehow insulting people with my singleness? Seriously, my friend's friends keep wanting to play matchmaker, then act like I've done something rude when I say "Thanks, but I'm focusing on my studies now. Maybe I'll find someone special after I've graduated." I'm not saying it sarcastically, I'm just trying to hint that I don't want a boyfriend now, and I probably wouldn't be interested in their friend/classmate/brother anyway. Argh. ...At least I learned not to tell them I'm not interested at all. Then they look like they think there's something wrong with me. Pee Ess: I'm having my birthday party Saturday the 28th, if there's anyone who still reads this whom I've forgotten to tell. | | Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 | | 1:26 pm |
It is absolutely freezing outside. Literally. I just got hit on the head by a chunk of ice falling off a tree outside the library. In other news, the anime club president decided to rickroll everyone by embedding the song in an episode we were watching. It was actually really funny. Also I think my mind is eroding. But good news is I finally got a bunch of problems worked out, and after this semester I just have to take one class over the summer. I graduate in August, apparently. I could have been done this semester, but dad doesn't want me to take an overload. Hooray! Oh, and just so people know... I won't be going to A-Kon this year after all. I have the chance to go to BotCon, my friend's aunt lives in the city it's in so we'll be staying with her, and unfortunately it's the exact same weekend as A-Kon. | | Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 | | 9:07 am |
So you know that thing Texas does where the weather goes hot-cold-hot? Two days ago it was in the 70s. Today? It is snowing. If it doesn't stop by lunchtime, I'm... uh, I guess I'll just hope I don't end up sliding off the road? | | Monday, November 3rd, 2008 | | 11:49 pm |
Y'know, the perfect end to a crappy Monday is to have the ceiling of your bathroom suddenly start pouring water. The room above us has a flooded toilet. The 'pouring' description is not an exaggeration, the amount of water is literally enough to potentially shower in. Joy! | | Sunday, September 28th, 2008 | | 11:47 pm |
People have been taking what I'm saying all wrong today. I don't know what it is, because in my mind it makes perfect sense, but as soon as it comes out of my mouth it confuses everyone. Also I can't find the answers to four of my homework questions, no matter how long I spend looking through the book. Also I had a headache half the day from some woman's kids screaming their heads off in the middle of the store the entire time I was in there. Also Fuzzy died. | | Thursday, September 18th, 2008 | | 11:46 pm |

Surreal moment of the day: Hearing the dishwasher guy's radio, which is usually reserved for rap stations, playing what sounded like a disco remix of the Star Wars theme. And then going back out into the cafe just in time to hear my decidedly non-geeky manager humming the Portal song. | | Sunday, September 7th, 2008 | | 10:17 pm |
So I realize I haven't said anything about classes this semester. Things have been absolutely crazy. I got there on a Wednesday, spent most of Thursday unpacking, and Friday went to get my parking sticker and to ask why three of my classes still had location and professor listed as TBA. Oh! Not a problem, they said, that usually just means there's less than 5 students who enrolled for the class and the professor might want to have classes at non-standard times. We can call around for you, see who you'll need to contact to get the information. Oh good, I said, I was worried something had gone wrong. So I sat and waited as the lady at the desk made phone calls to several secretaries in four or five different departments for THREE HOURS. Neither she nor I could figure out what was wrong, until she finally got in touch with someone who knew what they were talking about. ...These classes aren't being offered this semester. This one's been canceled entirely, and these two are only offered in spring. How did you sign up for these? asks the voice on the other end of the phone. ...I signed up online. You know- class search, click the ticky-box, click register... I said (in better words than that). Then they told me I'd need to sign up for different classes to make up for those three. Except there were only two other Asian Studies classes available. There's a possible third, but it's a one-on-one with a professor that hasn't contacted me back despite numerous, increasingly-desperate voice messages and emails, and he's NEVER in his office when I go. So! Current hours = 13. Current breakdown of schedule: MWF 9:05-9:55 - Tennis MWF 11:15-12:05 - Traditional China (with the professor I despise) MWF 12:20-1:10 - World Political Systems MW 2:30-3:45 - Asian Economic Development TR 11:00-12:15 - World Religions Then Mondays and Wednesdays I work from 5-9ish. Tuesdays are Anime Club, 6-9, usually everyone gets dinner together first. And just to add another brick to the load, the professor for Traditional China (aka Chinese History part 1), whom I had for Japanese history, is still pulling the same shit except this time he's raised the term paper from 10 pages to 15. Someone come shoot me. =,D P.S. I get fucking depressed when I don't have anyone to hug randomly. | | Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 | | 10:19 pm |
Well, stuff's packed, car's loaded, 9:00 A.M. and I'm gone. Hugs to everyone, and I'll call when I get to come visit. | | Sunday, August 10th, 2008 | | 10:05 pm |
Pros of this trip: - Fun dolphin tour, I got pictures. - Found lots of pretty shells. - Mmm, delicious restaurants. - John was actually quite agreeable at times. Cons of this trip: - Fucking two days notice whut. - When I tried to say I didn't think I should go, both dad and mom INSISTED. - Missed everything I originally had planned this weekend. - John's computer broke, he blamed mom, mom blamed him. - My English partner never sent me her section of the final paper, I emailed her asking for it and CCed my teacher but haven't heard back. It's due tomorrow. - On the way home, mom blew a tire. Turned a 3-hour drive into 9 hours. - Mom thought it'd be fun to drive 100+ miles back to SA at about 45 mph. - Mom also flipped out every time I said I wanted to go on ahead and insisted I stay following her. - Breakdown of time spent on the way home is roughly as follows: 1 hour from Port A to where the tire blew, 1.5 hours spent waiting for a tow, 3.5 hours waiting for WalMart to change our tires because 6 other people had had blowouts before us, 3 hours driving what I normally could have driven in 2. And to that one guy? Dude? Yes, you. I wasn't going 45 by choice. Mom and I were in the right lane. The left lanes were 100% completely, totally empty. There was no need to tailgate me, especially when I'm trying to politely motion for you to please, just go around. Oh, so you want to stay here? You're going to tailgate me for four fucking minutes, I see. You know what? I'm out of patience. When I can no longer see your headlights in my rearview mirror because you're that close, you are getting way too friendly with my car's ass. And you know what else? At this point, I'm frustrated and angry enough that I no longer care how dangerous or rude it is, watching you swerve like that when I hit my brakes was fucking hilarious. | | Saturday, July 26th, 2008 | | 11:30 am |
So I has no more wisdom teeth. Instead I have gaping holes in the back of my mouth, and it kinda hurts to talk or swallow. Fortunately, I appear to not be one of the people who gets nauseous from the meds. In conclusion, OW OW OW MY MOUTH HATES ME. In other news, the X-Files movie feels just like an extra-long X-Files episode. Which was exactly what I was hoping for. Not the year's best movie, but worth watching. |
